Feb already and no fresh words for you, just the old stinky ones from last year going off in the corner under a discarded xmas tree. So, if only to prove that I'm still in the land of the living here's a warm hallo to you all for on this frosty morning and a little bit about what I've been up to. I know you've been having a few sleepless nights lately wondering.

This is generally a quiet time of year for rock n roll vampires, the frozen cold light of day that follows the yuletide excesses leave us shielding our eyes and running for cover lest we turn to dust.

There have been a couple of musical outings, a band debut with Suzie Stapleton and new drummer Jim Macaulay (The Stranglers) down in fashionable Dalston. An intimate but rousing show that bodes well for the future, I'm currently editing a video for Suzie's new single 'Negative Prophet' (except I'm not, I'm getting distracted and writing this blog instead. But I'll get back to it. In a minute. Just having a coffee, alright?) Suzie is heading off to her native Australia soon for a month, she'll be gigging down there too so keep an eye open, my antipodean friends.

There was also a Righteous Mind show at Dingwalls in Camden, a tough one to play due to

1) having the flu and

2) Chaotic organization with an earlier separate gig over-running.

The gig itself was fine I think, it never ceases to amaze me how far on-stage adrenaline will take you, granting temporary reprieve from my snotty hacking-up and various aches. The bottle of wine helped too. But the bedlam backstage with bands moving their gear around and nobody knowing what was going on was a real drag, apologies to any fans who didn't get to see us play, it was well and truly out of our control.

I'm also working on an album cover for Healthy Junkies and you can currently see some of my artwork up at Jefferey-West (city branch.) There are some new pieces going up on the shop here soon, I'm also looking out for new places to exhibit, so any suggestions please drop me a line.

I picked up this month's Vive Le Rock magazine and was greeted with a familiar face, lurking around punk rock royalty. This was snapped at the Vive Le Rock awards in December, a memorable night that I can barely remember due to the predictable amounts of debauchery that ensued. I was fortunate to take part in an all-star line-up with various special guests from The Inmates, The Boys, Vibrators, Ruts and more. We're doing it again at Islington Academy on March 28th, come on down and join the fun.
